Nadia Renaud is a Montreal-born journalist and translator who spent a decade reporting on maritime economies and island communities across the Lesser Antilles. After completing an M.A. in communications at Université Laval, she relocated to Aruba in 2018 and now divides her time between Oranjestad and Quebec City. Her reportage, recognized for its close attention to shoreline ecologies and working harbors, has appeared in regional magazines and francophone cultural journals.
Renaud began publishing fiction with the short story collection Harbor Lights (2020), shortlisted for the Portside Fiction Prize, and later the sunlit-noir mystery Oranjestad (2023). She also writes culinary nonfiction and cookbooks that map Caribbean foodways alongside memory and place, blending investigative detail with practical recipes and hand-drawn charts in both English and French. When away from the desk, she volunteers with a sea turtle rescue group and leads community workshops in narrative journalism and food writing.
