Clifford Hawkins is a Canadian-American science fiction writer and former systems engineer. Born in 1985 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he studied physics at Dalhousie University and earned an M.S. in aerospace systems from Georgia Tech. He worked on deep-space communications software in Pasadena before relocating to New Mexico to help maintain a community radio telescope array. His short fiction has appeared in a range of magazines and anthologies, often blending queer romance with hard science and mythic technology. He lives in Seattle with his partner and an elderly cat named Phase, volunteers with STEM outreach programs, and spends too much time sketching imaginary star maps.
