James Williams

Williams, James is a Brighton-based recipe developer and registered nutritionist known for his pantry-first, myth-busting approach to everyday cooking. Born in Birmingham in 1986 to Jamaican-British parents, he studied nutrition at the University of Leeds before completing classical culinary training in London. He cooked in neighborhood kitchens in Brixton and Shoreditch, consulted on community health projects across the UK, and began sharing practical advice and affordable recipes on social media in 2019 under the handle @BeyondTheKey. He teaches pantry-cooking workshops from Manchester to Margate and lives on the south coast with his partner and a rescue dog named Saffron.
