Eleanor Winter is a Canadian-born writer and editor based in New York City. Raised in Halifax, she earned a BA in urban studies from McGill University and an MFA in creative writing from Hunter College. Before publishing fiction, she worked for a decade in transit communications and community outreach, partnering with neighborhood groups across the five boroughs. Her essays on civic life have appeared in Belt Magazine, Lit Hub, and small-press journals. She lives in Brooklyn.
