Hannah Hallowell

Hannah Hallowell grew up near the Finger Lakes in upstate New York, where her grandmother kept a cabinet of antique bottles that sparked an early love of glass and folklore. She studied anthropology and folklore at the University of Vermont and later apprenticed with a glassblower in Corning. Her short fiction has appeared in small magazines and anthologies, and she has taught community workshops on mythic storytelling. After years working as a reference librarian, she moved to Portland, Maine, where she hikes the coast in all weather and plays the hammered dulcimer poorly but enthusiastically. She lives with her partner and an orange cat named Minnow.
