Elijah R. Hawke is a Canadian American writer and former aerospace systems engineer born in 1984 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He earned an MSc in astrophysics from the University of Arizona and spent seven years with a Pasadena based deep space communications team, contributing to navigation tools used on Mars orbiters. After 2016 he shifted to fiction full time, publishing short work in regional magazines and winning a Pacific Northwest emerging writers award. He teaches night courses in narrative design, restores vintage telescopes on weekends, and lives in Portland, Oregon with a rescue dog and an unruly container garden.
