Lisa Kirkman

Kirkman, Lisa grew up on Florida's Atlantic coast and studied English at Flagler College before earning an MFA in creative writing from the University of Central Florida. She has taught middle school language arts, led teen workshops at coastal arts centers, and worked summers cataloging maritime artifacts at a small museum in St. Augustine. Her short fiction has appeared in regional journals, and she is known locally for hosting open-mic nights under the lighthouse's shadow. She lives in St. Augustine with her partner, a rescue beagle named Minnow, and an ever-expanding collection of vintage field guides to the sea.
